Nature Canada

Nature Canada is the oldest national nature conservation charity in Canada. Over the past 75 years, Nature Canada has helped protect over 63 million acres of parks and wildlife areas in Canada and countless species that depend on this habitat. Today, Nature Canada represents a network comprised of over 45,000 members and supporters and more than 350 nature organizations across the country and with affiliates in every province.

We focus on effecting change on issues of national significance including citizen science initiatives, urban nature initiatives, building a national network of conservation organizations, building a network of volunteers to care for critical natural habitat sites across Canada and being a voice for nature at the federal level. Nature Canada is also extremely proud to be the founding member of the Green Budget Coalition seeking to present positive, viable and sensible solutions to the federal government on how the federal budget can move in a more environmentally friendly direction.

We nurture valuable partnerships because we believe collective action is always more effective than a lone voice. Internationally, Nature Canada is proud to be a member organization of the International Union for Conservation of Nature (IUCN) as well as the Canadian co-partner of BirdLife International.
